August 6, 2011 - We interviewed Illac Diaz of MyShelter Foundation last Saturday for our project in technology entrepreneurship. We wanted to feature him in our class discussion because he’s both a social entrepreneur and a technology entrepreneur.
We shot the interview in one of the sites where Isang Litrong Liwanag project has been initially deployed. Isang Litrong Liwanag (One Liter of Light) is a sustainable lighting project which uses Solar Light Bulbs. The Solar Light Bulbs are transparent plastic bottles containing water and a chlorine solution which is inserted halfway in a roof. The said bulbs work by diffusing natural light entering the bottle to produce light equivalent to 55 watts.
The interview made us smile because what he was saying was what exactly our program of study wants us to become. : D
